Yes, we require that everyone who comes to our certification and non-certification classes be at least 18 years old.
As per WSET regulations all exams must be marked by them in their London location. For WSET Levels 1 & 2 you will have your results back in about 3 weeks. Results are delivered ASAP by email, and the certificates and pins are mailed out a few days later.
Yes, we do ship materials to countries outside of Guyana, however, the additional cost of shipping will be passed on to the student. All domestic shipping is included in the price of the course.
We do not sell materials unless a student is officially registered for a course. If you are taking a Level 2 and you pay only the deposit upfront you will still receive your materials right away.
Lunch is not included, however, students will get a 45-minute break to eat.
We do not offer scholarships through the school, however, some organizations offer them to people working in the wine industry. Please ask us for more details.
If an order is received before 2 pm the materials will be shipped out that same day, for orders received after 2 pm materials will be shipped out the following day. We use priority shipping so you will have your books 1-2 days after you register for a class. Only students enrolled in the WSET Levels 1 in Wine or Spirits will be able to access materials online, otherwise, everything is done with textbooks.
A sommelier is a job title more than a single certification. Our students can go on to work as sommeliers after they complete our courses, but also in distribution, import, consulting and the yachting industry. Ultimately it will be the job you apply for and the requirements of a future employer that determines when you are a sommelier.
Holding the WSET Level 1 Award in Wine or Spirits certification is not required, however if you are totally new to wine we would recommend considering enrolling in either the WSET Level 1. You must be of legal drinking age to enroll in this course.
YES, the exam is offered online as well as an in-person option. You have 12 months from the time you enroll in the course to sit the exam either online or at Wine World Gy.
If you do not pass the exam on your first attempt, you can resit the exam during another scheduled exam date. A resit fee applies.
